I love a Green Smoothie to start the morning. I usually do kale, berries(frozen cherries are great!) OJ and honey. Or spinach, strawberry, banana and OJ. The vitamin c in the OJ and strawberries aid in the absorption of the iron in the spinach. Milk or yogurt are great additions as well as protein powder if your muscles need that protein kick! ;)

After the lectures I listened to last week about Raw Food, I decided to look into Spirulina. I was very intrigued by this Superfood, so I decided to try it. I have also been interested in starting my day with a Green smoothie. So, today I put my interests into action. I blended a sliced kiwi(put in freezer for 20 mins), 1 tablespoon of Spirulina powder, 1 banana, 1/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt and 4 large ice cubes in a blender. Let me tell you, it was FANTASTIC!!! I really did not expect it to be delicious, but it was. I will definitely be starting my day this way more often, possibly every day! Next time I am going to add some kale or spinach to add some nutrition.

-Helps remove toxic chemicals such as lead and mercury from the body
